Diagnostic Evaluation of Language Variation (DELV)

 

The DELV is an individually administered diagnostic test designed to be used by clinicians to identify speech and language disorders (or delays) in children. The DELV enables clinicians to assess aspects of language that are common to all varieties of English and critical to the development of language competence. Because the test measures these universal aspects of language, clinicians can use it to identify a child as having a speech or language disorder, regardless of the variety of English the child speaks.
