Comprehensive Breakdown of the Bilingual Articulation and Phonology Assessment Report: Key Sections, Data Insights, and Interpretive Analysis
BAPA Evaluation Report Template
{$student_firstname}’s speech skills were evaluated using the Bilingual Articulation and Phonology Assessment (BAPA). The BAPA is an individually administered clinical tool used for evaluating articulation and phonology skills in children who speak Spanish and/or English. It is normed on children who are from English-speaking, Spanish-speaking and bilingual (English-Spanish) environments. The norms for the Spanish portion of the test include children who are monolingual Spanish speakers and bilingual speakers of Spanish and English. The English portion of the test includes two sets of norms. One is for children from English only environments and the other is for children from bilingual environments. The children included in the bilingual normative data set were reported to use both languages at least 20 percent of the time. The raw score indicates the number of phonemes produced correctly. The standard score is based on a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15. Percentiles are based on a negatively skewed distribution, indicating that older children with typical development reach mastery in sound production. As a result, standard scores do not have the same corresponding percentiles that they have with a normal distribution.
